A new study by the online community ts-dating.com has revealed the cities where trans* people can live the most safely. The study examined the conditions that contribute most to the safety of trans* individuals including the number of active local LGBT* organisations, the presence of anti-discrimination laws, legal options for gender recognition, penalties for hate speech and quality of healthcare services. The top 10 cities on the list are Vancouver, Cologne, New York, Chicago, Montreal, Madrid, Barcelona, Los Angeles, München and Brisbane; while Sydney and Melbourne came in at numbers 16 and 17 respectively.
STUN notes that this study was published before Donald Trump’s second term and before the Queensland Government ordered a statewide halt on puberty blocking agents and gender affirming hormones for all new patients under 18.
