Thai MPs vote for same-sex marriage

Thailand is a step closer to becoming only the second Asian nation after Taiwan to legalise same-sex marriage after a majority of MPs voted in favour of four draft bills. A whopping 360 out of 371 approved the draft legislation, which will be put to a vote after further debate. The Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, is in favour of marriage equality and surveys show that over 96% of the Thai public are too.
