TRANSGENRE launches free all-trans concert series ‘Euphoria Month’

TRANSGENRE – the largest grassroots initiative celebrating trans and non-binary voices in Australian music – has teamed up with Metro A.i.R to launch the first-ever Euphoria Month, a free concert series in Gadigal/Sydney being held all throughout February.

Every Wednesday night in February, the Metro Social (formerly the Metro Lair, the sister venue of the Metro Theatre) will shapeshift into a wonderland of trans excellence, where the future stars of Australian pop, rock, metal and indie will ensure the good vibes flow at maximum velocity.

Each show comes with its own loose theme. Night one (Wednesday February 4) is all about incredible indie, kicking off with dreamy bedroom pop from local up-and-comer kayls. It’ll be followed by an emotively charged set of alt-folk songs from Naarm/Melbourne’s Sunny Morris, before Meanjin/Brisbane favourites Worm Girlz round it all out with their unique brand of lighthearted feminist punk.

Night two (Wednesday February 11) is one for the mosh lords among us, with Melbourne’s Sage and Sundreamer – two of the best metalcore acts in Australia right now – both playing live in Sydney for the first time ever. Headlining this show will be local post-punk/grunge troupe Second Idol, who recently made waves with their crushing debut album Mongrel.

Night three (Wednesday February 18) is a club night like none other, headlined by soon-to-be pop diva Robert Baxter. Joining them from Melbourne will be experimental pop princess Katie Dey, with the night rounded out by a set from Awabakal/Newcastle dance-punk firestarters Soyboy.

Last but certainly not least, night four (Wednesday February 25) will celebrate the new rulers of Australian punk and emo. It’ll be headlined by the local legends in Great Job! – with another Sydney first, this time from Melbourne’s Beth Seymour & The Lizzies, also sure to get us right in the feels. And to round it all out, pop-punk mainstay Blake Williams will deliver a powerful set of her party-starting anthems.

RSVPs for all shows are open now via transgenre.com.au

TRANSGENRE: Euphoria Month follows the sold-out second edition of the flagship TRANSGENRE festival, which took Sydney by storm last September with career-defining sets from the likes of flowerkidAlex The Astronaut and FVNERAL. The festival will return for Volume III and Volume IV in 2026, heralding TRANSGENRE’s expansion into live events all around Australia.
