Created during the pandemic, Briefs: Bite Club featuring Sahara Beck was the sweet injection of sex and glamour that the 2024 SpringOUT program was thirsting for.
Treading a fine line between being a traditional Briefs show and a Sahara Beck concert, Bite Club ultimately erred more on the side of being a concert.. but no one was complaining!
Hailing from Queensland, singer Sahara Beck served up a range of powerful songs ranging from country to synth pop, duly equipped with a soaring voice and an oh-so-cool presence that grabbed the audience from the start and didn’t let go.
Of course, it’s a ‘concert’ with a difference as the Briefs boys faithfully flaunted the moves and the muscle that they’re famous for.
We were treated to a variety of shows from Boylesque star Mark ‘Captain Kidd’ Winmill splashing about in a big watery vase to an absolutely gorgeous 1960s dance act featuring Nastia and Fez/Shivannah and all manner of cheeky, circus style aerial trapeze acts and dazzling drag choreographies in-between. The kooky Samoan (via Ipswich) queen, Fez/Shivannah, is also the host and the cast also includes Thomas Worrell, Serenity and Rowan Thomas.
Briefs: Bite Club is on again tonight (Friday 22 November) and then wraps up with two shows tomorrow (Saturday 23 November) at the Canberra Theatre, including a special Briefs Boozy Brunch show from 11am that includes a mimosa on arrival, a buffet breakfast and a matinee performance, and then the evening show.
Don’t miss this chance to catch this big, bold and sassy show while it’s still in town.
