Get ready for an unforgettable springtime escape this October long weekend with the Coastal Twist LGBTIQA  Arts and Culture Festival. Set on the stunning Central Coast of NSW, just 70 minutes south of Sydney and north of Newcastle, this vibrant beach getaway is your perfect Gaycation destination.

Returning for its highly anticipated fourth year, the quirky & cool Coastal Twist Festival will take place from October 1st to 6th, transforming the Central Coast into a dynamic hub of LGBTIQA  Arts and Culture. With the theme “Rise & Shine,” this year’s festival promises six days of exhilarating entertainment and enriching experiences, making it the most dazzling week of the year of its regional community.

Tickets are now available, and all events are live! Embracing the phoenix’s symbolism of resilience and renewal, the “Rise & Shine” theme encourages attendees to unleash their full potential and share their unique spark. The festival will span multiple locations, from Woy Woy to Umina Beach and Gosford, offering a diverse range of free and ticketed events suitable for all ages and abilities.

Festival highlights include captivating cabaret shows, live music performances, film screenings, vibrant dance parties, engaging activities for youth and seniors, thought-provoking art exhibitions, and the grand Coastie Carnie Fair Day on October 6th. This family-friendly extravaganza features headlining performances, the Puparazzi Pooch Parade, youth activities, food and showcases from local businesses and organizations.

Festival Director Glitta Supernova remarked, “The ‘Rise & Shine’ theme beautifully reflects our community’s resilience and determination to thrive. It’s a celebration of our journey from adversity to empowerment, fostering deeper connections and greater inclusion within our diverse community.”

Since its inception in 2019, the Coastal Twist Festival has rapidly grown into one of NSW’s largest regional LGBTIQ festivals. Despite industry challenges, including numerous cancellations in 2022-2023, the festival has made a significant impact, with increased local business involvement and notable external visitation.

This year, Coastal Twist continues to champion inclusivity and diversity, welcoming everyone from all walks of life. It’s more than just entertainment; it’s a call to embrace differences and drive positive change. Mark your calendars for this vibrant Queer regional festival full of Heart & Art.
