“Electrifying energy…. deliciously exotic and just a tad outrageous… One of the greatest performances this year” LILITHIA REVIEWS ★★★★★

“Cabaret Veterans might feel as if they’re witnessing a baby Meow Meow or Paul Capsis… Kantor is a star in the making” THE AGE

Making its Sydney premiere as part of the 2025 Hayes Cabaret Season, the award-winning production Sugar is theatrical, outrageous, silly and sexy. The show, written by Ro Bright (a Scotsman Fringe First award winner for Daffodils at Edinburgh Fringe), stops in at the Hayes for two nights only before embarking on an international tour to the UK, playing at the famous Assembly Checkpoint for Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The narrative-driven cabaret is directed by Green Room award-winning director Kitan Petkovski (The Inheritance).

Presented by Melbourne-based favourites Bullet Heart Club, Sugar stars award-winner Tomáš Kantor as a radiantly beautiful gender-fluid twink who discovers that there’s money to be made from ‘transactional relationships’ (though their primary source of information is Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman). What could possibly go wrong?

“I’m ecstatic to be serving Sydney this salacious sizzling sexy snack of a show. SUGAR totally DEVOURED at Melbourne Fringe, and I’m prepped, plucked and preened to take my tantalising tasty treats your way. Are you hungry for an hourlong slick camp pop musical joyride with an undercover overconfident gender queer twink sugar baby at the wheel? Oh honey, I’m delivering the goods to satisfy all your sugar cravings. So get ready to EAT Sydney – I guarantee no leftover crumbs xo.” – Tomáš Kantor

Pop hits from Kylie to Chappell Roan pack this electric cabaret about luxury, power, and being paid to have sex on a grand piano.
