Following the success of the inaugural Kaleidoscope exhibition in 2022, we are continuing to celebrate the LGBTIQ+ community and all the richness found in the multi-layering and diversity in ideas of what it means to be part of LGBTIQ+ collective.
We are inviting LGBTIQ+ artists in Canberra and throughout Australia — at any level of artistic experience — to create and share what being queer means to them.
The LGBTIQ+ community is so much more than six colours, and everyone has their own ideas about what it means to be part of this diverse rainbow community. Diversity and inclusion are the communal glue that holds it all together. It is the common thread that makes the connections, provokes dialogue, and creates magic. This exhibition is a celebration of all that makes this wonderful uniqueness, the diversity of perspectives, lived experiences and shared ambitions.
Belco Arts wants to promote positive dialogue and revel in the richness the LGBTIQ+ Collective brings into our lives.
We invite artists to consider what being part of this community means to them. We invite artists to explore their ideas thoughtfully, radically, or somewhere in between. We welcome contributions from all viewpoints in 2D or 3D, using painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, glass, photography, drawing or mix medium etc. Artists working in any stage of their creative practice are welcome to explore this theme.
All works selected for exhibition will be eligible for consideration for the $500 People’s Choice Award.
